宁波诺丁汉大学
宁波诺丁汉大学是经中国教育部批准，由英国诺丁汉大学与浙江万里学院合作创办，在中国设立的第一家引进世界一流大学优质教学资源、具有独立法人资格和独立校区的中外合作大学。学校由英国诺丁汉大学校长、中国科学院院士、前复旦大学校长杨福家教授担任校长，罗杰·伍兹教授担任执行校长。根据泰晤士高等教育以及上海交通大学公布的权威排行榜，诺丁汉大学位列英国高校十强，世界百强。
宁波诺丁汉大学以"一流学术成就一流国际化人才"为办学宗旨，将英国诺丁汉大学的优势学科与中国社会经济发展实际所需相结合，引进一系列具国际一流水准的学位课程，使中国学生能以较低的成本获得世界优质高等教育。学校的所有本科和研究生课程实行全英文授课，实行与英国诺丁汉大学完全一致的教学评估体系，并专门设有第一学年部来培养学生的学术英语能力。
学校位于宁波市大学园区，占地面积887亩，建筑面积18万余平方米，目前在校生3600人，教职员工250余人，来自于世界上多个国家和地区。目前，学校从全国23各省市通过高考招生，并要求考生成绩在第一批录取分数线以上。
目前，学校已建立国际商学院，国际传播学院，国际问题研究学院，计算机科学学院，可持续发展技术学院，英语语言研究学院和工程学院，提供多个本科、研究生层次专业教学。目前，学校已有三届硕士毕业生（2006，2007及2008届），首届本科生于2008年毕业。宁波诺丁汉大学毕业生的学业成绩同英国诺丁汉大学学生一样优秀，并且就业率也很高。
在科研方面，学校同国内外的学术机构有着各种形式的合作，并设有一系列研究机构，包括亚太研究所、比较文化研究所、应用语言学研究中心、可持续能源技术研究中心、国际金融研究中心，学习科学研究中心和全球化与经济政策研究中心。此外，先进制造研究中心也即将建立。
国际化是宁波诺丁汉大学的一项核心发展战略。这一战略的实现由一支强大的国际师资队伍加以保证。学校师资全部由英国诺丁汉大学严格选派，从而使中国学生以远低于海外留学的费用、不出国门就能享受到国外一流大学的教育资源。目前，学校已拥有众多来自23个不同国家的专任外籍教师，从事学术英语及专业课程的教学。同时，学校有一支不断壮大的国际学生队伍，目前在校的国际生来自世界上30多个国家，包括全日制国际生、学年或学期制的交流学生。随着学校的不断发展，国际生的比例将逐渐达到在校生总数的20-25%。此外，每一个宁波诺丁汉大学学生都有机会通过夏季短学期，或通过交换项目与海外学习项目到英国诺丁汉大学或其他世界著名院校学习。

The University of Nottingham Ningbo, China
The University of Nottingham Ningbo, China is the first Sino-Foreign University in China with approval from the Chinese Ministry of Education. It is run by the University of Nottingham UK with cooperation from Zhejiang Wanli Education Group-University. The President of the University of Nottingham Ningbo, China is Professor Yang Fujia, a distinguished academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and former President of Fudan University, and the Provost is Professor Roger Woods. The University of Nottingham is ranked 8th in the Table of UK Universities of the Decade (Times Higher University Rankings) and is in the World's Top 100 universities (Shanghai Jiao Tong (SJTU) rankings).
The University of Nottingham Ningbo's mission statement is "Academic Excellence in the Service of Global Citizenship", and this means that the University of Nottingham Ningbo, China has committed itself to developing subjects that combine internationally ranked teaching and research excellence at the University of Nottingham UK with Chinese needs for internationalisation and globalisation. This allows Chinese students to enjoy a world-class international education without the major expense of studying abroad. All undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in Ningbo are conducted entirely in English with the same teaching and evaluation standards as at Nottingham UK. The University has a Division dedicated to teaching English for Academic Purposes.
The University is located in Ningbo Higher Education Park on a newly build and dedicated campus with a land area of 887mu. Currently, it has 3600 undergraduate and postgraduate students and more than 250 teaching and administrative staff from all over the world. Chinese undergraduate students are selected from 23 different provinces using the Gao Kao. Division 1 is required.
Currently there are seven academic divisions at the University of Nottingham Ningbo, China offering undergraduate and postgraduate (masters) degrees. They are the Division of International Business, the Division of International Communications the Division of International Studies, the Division of Computer Science, the Division of Sustainable Development, the Division of English Studies, and the Division of Engineering. Subjects have been chosen taking into account the expertise available at Nottingham UK and the needs of China. So far during the 4 years the Univerity has operated three groups of Masters students have graduated (in 2006, 2007, 2008) and in 2008 the first group of Bachelor students graduated. The academic achievements of the graduates have been excellent, similar to those of the students at the University of Nottingham UK and their rate of employment has been very high.
The University is active in research, collaborating within China and Internationally. Significant collaboration exists with the University of Nottingham UK. Indeed one of aims of the University of Nottingham Ningbo's Research is to bring the Research expertise of the University of Nottingham UK to China. Currently the University has a series of research institutes: the Institute of Asia Pacific Studies, the Institute for Comparative Cultural Studies, the Centre for Research in Applied Linguistics, the Centre for Sustainable Energy Technology, and the Centre for Global Finance, Learning Science Research Centre, and Centre for Research on Global Economic Policy. Centre for Advanced Manufacturing will be launched shortly.
Internationalisation is at the heart of the development of the University of Nottingham Ningbo, China: we have a growing international teaching team as well as an increasingly international student body. The University now has teaching staff from over 23 different countries and full-time/exchange international students from more than 30 countries. In the longer term 20 - 25%of the student population will be international. Our internationalisation policy also means that students have the opportunity to study at the University of Nottingham UK or to go as exchange or study abroad students to study at other top universities around the world.
